Hi, my name is Morgan McKendrick, and I’d like to start off by saying how excited and privileged I feel to be starting my career path here at REAL HR; I’m looking forward to learning the multitude of roles filled by an HR professional in Calgary, AB!
A little bit about me:
I’m a born-and-raised Calgarian, come September I’ll be beginning my fourth (and final) year of Mount Royal University’s Bachelor of Business Administration, majoring in Human Resources.
Throughout my educational forays, I’ve been developing a passion and appreciation for the human side of a business organization. I look forward to learning more about how to fully utilize, and celebrate, the diverse perspectives found here in Calgary.
In the coming months/years I hope to develop my own inter-personal skills in communicating with clients, as well as building a foundation of confidence to help me grow as a professional.
As the world changes rapidly, it is increasingly important for employers to embrace new paradigms, and adapt to changing markets. As someone from the “Y” generation, I hope to provide REAL HR with a valuable insight into the perspectives and challenges employers may face when encountering the somewhat unique employment needs of my peer group.
As the summer moves ahead, I anticipate learning more and more every day as to how to develop my skill set in HR, and how to be most effective as a member of the REAL HR team. I want to thank Eleanor for agreeing to take-on someone so “green” in the workplace, and for mentoring me as I progress into the future.
